ABOUT US:
In 1984, Bob Sealy, a passionate Texas angler, launched BassSplashBig with a vision to create a bass fishing tournament where anyone could compete for substantial prizes. Since then, Bob Sealy, CEO and founder of Bassplashbig, has been hosting the world’s largest amateur hourly big bass fishing tournaments, celebrated for their inclusivity and featured on a National Geographic television special.
BassSplashBig tournaments draw thousands of amateur anglers to weekend contests on premier trophy bass lakes across the country. Professional anglers and lake guides are not permitted to compete, ensuring a level playing field for everyday anglers, including kids, in these lively and family-friendly events.
Weigh-ins occur hourly, with up to 15 big bass per hour earning prize money. A live radio broadcast at tournament sites signals the start each morning and provides real-time updates as bass are weighed. Anglers can choose the best hour to weigh their fish, aiming to outdo the current leaders.
To ensure fairness, boat checks and random polygraph tests are conducted after each hour. At the tournament’s end, the five heaviest bass overall win grand prizes. Additional prizes are awarded for exact weights, early bird entries, random drawings, and through “Optional Bonus” games where “You Can’t Win If You Don’t Play!”
